In the morning we woke up early and start our journey to Forbidden city…we take the metro to Tiannamen east station Exit A. Then just follow the crowd.. after several security check you will be arrive at Tiananmen gate..after passing the gate you will find a ticket queue, remember it is not for forbidden city..it is for some tower ticket to view the Tiananmen square. Pass the median gate then in your right you will find the ticket counter…Per day visitor limit 80,000…so go early to secure your ticket… 😀
Ticket cost: 60 yuan per person (Monday closed)
Forbidden city is huge…one complex after one complex…we just walk strait.. pass one after one complex and reach imperial garden…it took us 2 hour to finish the smallest route that I found in the palace museum travel guide section..if you want to visit the whole complex..you will need 4 to 5 hour.
After visiting the forbidden city we start our journey to temple of haven. Nearest station Tiantandongmen Station in line 5 (Exit A1/A2).
Entry cost: 35 yuan per person
Temple of haven is a beautiful temple with unique architecture..temple complex combined with two temple one is small and other is big. Temple of haven has huge garden..it is better to come here in the evening and spend the whole evening to visit temple and garden..you can easily spend 3 to 4 hour here….But we do not have that much time…so we left the place after only visiting the temples… 😦
After temple of heaven our nest destination is Niujie masjid in Niujie street. Nearest metro station Caishikou Station (Exit D).
Niujie masjid is oldest masjid in Beijing. After our Asar prayer we headed toward niujie street to eat our lunch. There are lots of halal restaurant in niujie street..but most of the restaurant does not have English menu..we use our sign language to buy and pay… 😀 we find a halal supermarket near the masjid…it’s a halal paradise… 😀
Then we back to hotel and little bit freshen up…then start our journey to Hongqiao Pearl Market. nearest station same as the temple of heaven. market close at 7:30pm and we reach at 7:00pm … so I directly go to the second floor to buy some bags…remember it’s a bargaining place..
I bought 2 bags..they ask 480 yuan each..i bought those for 50 yuan each… 😀
Then start our journey to Qianmen street (Zhushikou Station)… it also a pedestrian street with some posh shops and restaurants.
The street is nicely decorate with some fountain, sitting places and lighting. we find a relaxing environment there and we enjoy that vibe… 😀 There is halal restaurant in this street ( Shop No.27) near the main gate of Qainmen. But when we reach there they are closing the restaurant… 😦 ..then we went back to hotel….we eat our dinner at our last resort… that is Fish burger in MacDonald near our hotel… 😀
